NOLEEN'S JOURNEY
I have a confession to make... I love beautiful design!
Ever since I can remember, I have been attracted to beautiful designs. I discovered my not-so-secret muse very early, as a child. A muse, who to this day remains an inspiration. I speak of my mother, a woman who embodies for me, beauty, grace and her own sense of simple, timeless,elegant style.
As a young girl I started designing clothes for my friends, who have always called me Noleens. So when my creativity needed a label, Noleens was a natural choice. Noleens was born in 1988 in Kolkata, India. For 10 happy years I designed clothes for women, working with some of the most reputed boutiques in India. After which I packed up my patterns, put away my scissors and closed shop to accompany my family on a long adventure to Ukraine and England.
My passion and romance with clothes remained dormant, but never forgotten, instead lingering and resurfacing in my mind every now and then.
Through these years, I gathered impressions and experiences across countries, artists and culture. My desire to create, design and experiment with colors and fabrics grew stronger and stronger.
So here I am, many years later. Noleens is reborn and raring to go.
My designs reflect my love for colours, weaves, traditional Indian patterns and prints. My aim is to create and offer the kind of clothes that I would love to wear; clothes that are stylish, sophisticated, comfortable; clothes that would appeal to the contemporary woman anywhere and everywhere in the world.
Noleens is a celebration of self; of the joy of wearing clothes that you love; of having that one thing on you which makes you feel like you can rock the world!
